I Don't Know Who This is For

I know how it feels to have just a funky day. I know how it feels when that funky day turns into days and weeks. It's hard to get out of bed, especially when you've spend the night soaking your pillow with tears. You want to pray, but you either don't want to or just can't form the words to even begin a prayer.

You cry out in between sobs to God, "Lord, where are you?! Why aren't you helping me?! I don't think I can make it through this!" You feel forgotten. Alone. Close to giving up.

I've been there.

BUT. It's important to know that God is right there next to you. You are not alone and He has not forgotten about you. He's made that promise to us to never leave nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). We are never alone:

Where can I go from your Spirit?
    Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
    if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
    if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10
even there your hand will guide me,
    your right hand will hold me fast.
11
If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
    and the light become night around me,”
12
even the darkness will not be dark to you;
    the night will shine like the day,
    for darkness is as light to you.  (Psalm 139: 7-12)

Sis, He sees, hears, and understands exactly what you're going through. Don't forget that He walked this earth 2,000 years ago. He's experienced pain, grief, fear. He stretched His arms wide on the cross to take the burdens that weigh down your heart so that you don't have to carry them. He loves you that much. You - His precious daughter.

Cast all of your cares onto Him. He's standing there with his arms wide open ready for you to just unload and fall into His loving arms. Let Him carry that load as you rest in Him. Let His peace wash over you, as you take your eyes off of your hurt, your problems, your fears, and you focus on the One who can make it all better. If you don't know how, ask Him to show you how. He's faithful.

I don't know who this is for and why you are going through what you're going through.  Maybe you're in what seems to be a hopeless situation. Maybe you feel like all of your work for the Lord is in vain. But I do know what the Word says:

The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them;
    he delivers them from all their troubles.
18
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
    and saves those who are crushed in spirit. (Psalm 34: 17-18)

Don't give up. You won't always be where you're currently at. Keep pressing; I promise it is so worth it! I'm praying for you!

Love you, sis!
