Elijah's First Birthday Party
My baby boy is now one. ONE, ya'll. I know I ask this all the time, but HOW DOES TIME FLY BY SO FAST?! Insert all of the crying emojis. And wine emojis because Mama needs a glass or two, ha!
Saturday was Eli's birthday, and we celebrated by throwing him a Wild One themed birthday party. My sister and her roommates were kind enough to offer to let us throw the party at their new townhouse, and I was so grateful! Here's a little bit of a secret: I didn't realize that I invited more people to Eli's party than would be comfortable to fit in my sister's townhouse. I was panicking for a good week over how I was going to accommodate so many parents and babies, but not everyone invited showed up and it all thankfully worked out!
Although I planned and prepared for Eli's party way in advance, I still found myself a bit frazzled and running behind the day of his party. Actually, a lot of things did not go as planned from me forgetting to use some decor, to me still setting up when the first guests arrived, to me not even getting to do my makeup for the party! BUT Eli seemed to have such a great time at his party (he's going through a leap, and I thought he'd be so cranky) and that's all that matters. I mean, let's be honest: the first birthday party is for the parents anyway!
I was so in the moment and running around that I barely took any pictures, and the ones here aren't the best quality, but hopefully you'll get the gist of the party. At the end of the day, the birth of my sweet boy was celebrated by some of those closest to us!
