OUR RELATIONSHIP

Tobias and I met the Sunday before Memorial Day in 2008 at his church’s cookout. Fast forward to a week and a half later to when I get a friend request on MySpace (Oh my heavenly, I feel SO old!) from Tobias, and from there we just keep in contact via MySpace messaging. 

 We didn’t become official until August 23, 2008, and had a roller coaster of a relationship for the next four years, but we were in love. Finally in March 2013, when I became serious about my walk with God, I constantly prayed for God to send confirmation on whether or not I was supposed to let go of the relationship, and God began working on our hearts and our relationship. From then on, I began seeing just how much God was changing our relationship. We stopped pursuing sin, and Toby even suggested that we no longer kiss and hug a certain way anymore so as to make sure we don’t fall into temptation and sin.

Has this journey of pursuing purity and being God-led in our relationship been easy? Not at all! But I am so grateful that God saw fit to allow us to grow together and push each other to Christ. The fruit of being obedient to Him is amazing: now, I get to enjoy a Christ-centered relationship: we pray together and for each other, we both have a personal relationship with Christ, and Toby liked it so much, he put a ring on it on September 13, 2014! We then got married December 18, 2014!

God is so faithful!
