People Bondage: Part Five

Since it is Valentine’s Day, I want to focus on L-O-V-E: loving yourself and the love of Christ. This is going to be a short post, but I hope that this brings everything home for ya’ll.

Loving yourself. You are the best at being YOU. No one else can “do you” the way you “do you, boo”! You are fearfully and wonderfully made by your Heavenly Father (Psalm 139:14). God doesn’t make any mistakes. He purposely created you to have those eyes, that beautiful smile, and that wonderful, smart, intelligent brain. So appreciate and be thankful for every single part of you: your hair, your height, your intelligence, your talents, etc.

Christ’s love. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, got off of this heavenly throne and came to earth. He became his own creation, a human, just so he could die a horrible death on the cross for you and me. He took on our disgusting shameful sins and hung on a tree with YOU in mind. I imagine that your name and your face flashed in his mind as he was on that cross. He did it for us just for us so that we can escape Hell (which we all deserve) and enter eternity with Him. He loves you so much that He never wants to be apart from you. He just wants a relationship with you. He wants you to know that He loves you so very much and that you are the apple of His eye. One of my favorite songs always remind me of His amazing and endless love:

He is jealous for me.
Loves like a hurricane, and I am a tree
Bending beneath the weight of His wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden,
I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory
And I realize just how beautiful you  are and how great your affections are for me.
An oh
How He loves us oh!

So here is your final challenge that you may begin after you finish the challenge in Part Four, or you may begin now: For seven days, put a sticky note on your mirror, in your car, or wherever it may catch your attention, and list seven things you love about yourself for each day. So for Day 1 list seven things you love about yourself, Day 2 list seven things you love about yourself, and so on. Also, read or reread the book of John, as it will really show you the love of our Savior!

I hope that this series has challenged and helped you as much as it has for me. These five weeks have really helped my self-esteem, confidence, and spiritual growth! I definitely feel like I have more peace and confidence in myself and the Lord. I love you ladies so much and I hope that some or all chains of people bondage have been broken! Feel free to let me know how this challenge has helped you!

Love you, sis!
