Son of God and 70 Degree Weather
So, I saw Son of God this weekend. Twenty women
from my church’s women ministry met up at CinéBistro in Atlanta on Saturday to
experience the movie together. CinéBistro is such an amazing place, and I can’t
believe I’ve never heard of this place! Basically, it’s a movie theater you can
eat at. Not just food, but like, $$ food! Between the food, the service, and crazy
comfortable recliner seats, all I could think about was how Toby and I have to
come here for a date one day!
Let me just say,
no matter how many times I see a movie about the life of Jesus, it never fails
to wreck my heart! The movie, which was based off The Bible Series, did a pretty good job of squeezing in Jesus’
ministry in a two hour timeslot (although, I wish they would have included more
of His public ministry in the movie). Where I thought the movie lacked, it
definitely made up for it in displaying the love of Jesus. Like, OH MY HEAVENLY! I loved Jesus before,
but seeing Christ’s love for us on the big screen really made me fall in love
with Him all over again!
I mean, can you
imagine, being King of all kings, seated on your royal throne in heaven, and
then coming down to Earth for your wicked children? Can you imagine your creation charging, condemning, and
crucifying you? These people whipped our Lord and tore open His back! They beat
Him, spitted on Him, and slammed thick thorns into His head! They put nails in
His hands and feet! And He took it all when He could have sent His legion of
angels to wipe all of humanity out. He took on our sins on that cross so we can
spend eternity with Him! He SO didn’t have to do it, but He DID! Gosh! Don’t get me started, haha!
Sunday was such
a pretty day, here in Atlanta. We were blessed with 70 degree weather, so of
course a girl had to pull out a dress and strappy heels (haha)! Church with
Toby and the family was awesome as always. After, Toby and I spent time at
Cierra’s apartment with other friends, enjoying the warm weather and Chattahoochee
River. On the ride home that night, sharing a box of Little Caesar’s Pizza with
Toby, I was just so content with life. I wouldn’t have had my weekend any other
way.
Love you, sis!
