August Goals

Hello, August! Oh how I love thee for you hold Toby and my 7 year anniversary and you are the month before my birthday month!

Ya'll. July was a blur. A busy, busy blur. So much has happened and I am so grateful that July was the month that I saw fellowship and relationships blossom. God is truly faithful. I, however, am not as I only completed one of my July goals: give Toby an amazing birthday. I have yet to finish Lord, Teach Me to Pray (yikes!) and I have not set up a schedule (but I plan on getting that done this week - fingers crossed!).

To be honest, picking goals for this month was hard because there is so much my little creative mind would love to do. But I want to bring those before God and see if that is what He wants me to do. So instead of focusing on blogging, career, and creative goals, this month will focus more on healthy habits I am trying to build (well, except for the last goal).

Here we go!

  • No social media or phone after 6 p.m. This goes back to me wanting to be intentional and present in my marriage. I only have five months of newlywedness (like that word? Totally just made it up haha) left and I don't want to look back and have missed the small things because I was glued to my phone. This came at a perfect time as I saw sweet Gema from Beloved Gems post on the #simplydisconnect social media challenge that is currently going on.

  • No eating after 9 p.m. We eat soooo late in the King household and it is not okay! Eventually I want to get up to dinner being served at 5 or 6 p.m. daily with dessert or snack around 7:30ish, but baby steps ya'll.

  • Start money saving plan for our wedding celebration. Due to our quick wedding (see here), a lot of our family could not come, so we are throwing a big celebration on our anniversary in December! I need to get the ball rolling on pulling this thing off!
Welp, there ya have it folks! I'm praying August sticks around a little longer than July did so that I can soak up the last month of summer and really get my life together before fall, where I just want to relax and drink pumpkin spiced lattes for the rest of the year.
